Webuild's Three Dam Project
A significant contract for constructing three dams to produce the 2.8-kilometer-long freshwater lake at Trojena has been awarded to Webuild, formerly Salini Impregilo, a leading global participant in the construction of huge and complicated projects. Webuild has announced that it has received a contract from NEOM, a Saudi futuristic metropolis developer.
The project comprises dams, a lake, and distinctive architectural works. It is a one-of-a-kind infrastructure project located in the highlands of Saudi Arabia, a place of the future in the desert.
It is anticipated that the primary dam will be constructed out of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), will measure 145 meters in height and 475 meters in length, and will have the capacity to store roughly 2.7 million cubic meters of water. Along with the second dam, the third dam will be constructed out of rock and have a 4.3 million cubic meters volume.
According to the statement, there will also be an island designated for botanical dives and walks, and the artificial lake will occupy an area of 1.5 square kilometers. A significant component of Trojena's master plan that LAVA developed is the Lake, which will be the largest body of water in Saudi Arabia that has been architecture-crafted.
Moreover, Webuild will establish a project called 'The Bow,' which will include a hotel situated above the valley below the mountain. The Lake's surface will be augmented beyond the primary dam's front. The Bow, which will be suspended over the valley and shaped like the prow of a ship, will be home to a hotel, a residential section, and a significant atrium in the middle of the building.
On the other hand, Philip Gullett, who serves as the executive director and region head at Trojena, stated that the selection of Webuild S.P.A. represents an essential milestone in the progression of our building effort. Approximately three million cubic meters of excavation have already been finished at the lake site and continue to remove ninety thousand cubic meters of rock weekly. One of the most important things that is being done is implementing a sustainable strategy by reusing all of the rock extracted to construct the dam and the lagoon liner. Considering that this is a significant milestone in the project's overall development, the region is thrilled to see the construction work begin.

Construction Projects of Webuild
In a separate development, Webuild has already constructed 57 kilometers of the Connector high-speed railway line in Neom, which will connect the 'Oxagon' and 'The Line stations.' Additionally, it is constructing Line 3 of the underground in Riyadh, which will be the longest line on the underground network of the Saudi capital, measuring 42 kilometers in length.
The company is also constructing the 'Diriyah Square Package 2 Super Basement Works,' an underground multi-story parking facility with 10,500 parking spaces in the new area of the Ad-Diriyah neighborhood. Moreover, Webuild is involved in the construction of the water treatment plant at the ZULUF onshore oil complex and the long-term administration of the facility through its subsidiary, Fisia Italimpianti.
