5. One Vanderbilt, New York (1,401 feet)

The skyscraper, which SL Green Realty Corp. owns, can be found in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, at Vanderbilt Avenue and 42nd Street. With a height of 1401 feet or 427 meters and 67 stories, One Vanderbilt Place is a towering structure that dominates the Grand Central Terminal, located nearby, and officially opened in 2020. As part of the larger initiative to rezone the Midtown East neighborhood, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio proposed the construction of a skyscraper that would serve as a place for offices and observation.

On February 14, 2017, the building began on the structure, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, with Severud Associates as the structural engineer. On September 17, 2019, it was completed two months ahead of schedule, making it the tallest office building in Midtown, New York. Moreover, it reportedly had an observation deck open to the public in October 2021, allowing visitors to enjoy breathtaking views. It is also the second largest office building in Manhattan, with a gross size encompassing 1.7 million square feet of workspace.

4. 111 W 57th Street (1,428 feet)

In New York City, another skyscraper may be found on 57th Street, not too far from the Central Park Tower, 111 West 57 St. It is the world's narrowest skyscraper, having a width-to-height ratio of 1:23. As of March 2022, the building of the tower was fully finished, having reached its highest point in the year 2019.

3. Willis Tower, Chicago (1,450 feet)

Willis Group, a stockbroker located in London, purchased the naming rights to the building in 2009, even though many people continue to refer to the structure by its previous name, which was Sears Tower. With a towering height of 1,450 feet and a remarkable 108 floors, this imposing work of modernism ranks as the third-highest structure in the United States. Although it was the highest skyscraper in the world when it opened its doors in 1973, it continued to hold that title for another quarter of a century.

2. Central Park Tower, New York (1,550 feet)

Central Park Tower, also situated on the skyline of New York City, is located on 'Billionaire's Row.' It comprises private domestic apartments that span 98 floors and are inhabited by some of the wealthiest and most influential people in New York. With a height of 1,550 feet, Central Park Tower is undoubtedly the second-tallest skyscraper in the United States. It was officially opened in 2020, making it one of the more recent additions to the city's skyscraper network. The tall and thin building is one of the 'pencil' constructions that constitute New York City's signature architectural style.

1. One World Trade Centre, New York (1,776 feet)

The height of the base structure of the One World Trade Center in New York City makes it the highest building in the United States of America. Despite this, the historically significant structure located at Ground Zero would only be ranked third if you considered the antennas and roofs of neighboring skyscrapers.

On the top floor, where you may dine, shop, or attend or host events, the elevator will take you there in about a minute. The city's view from the observation deck of the One World Observatory is breathtaking.
