OpenSpace's New BIM Product

Although BIM has seen widespread adoption in the design and engineering industries, its application by field teams has been restricted due to its complexity and the level of technical expertise required.

As mentioned, OpenSpace BIM+ can align 360-degree photographs with BIM by utilizing its artificial intelligence and computer vision technology. It also features a multitude of functionalities that enable teams to significantly ease the process of coordinating BIM from the field to the office.

This gap is filled by OpenSpace BIM+, which offers a version of BIM designed explicitly for use in the field. Due to the product's user-friendly 3D tools, construction teams can manage on-site coordination difficulties without the need for considerable BIM experience or reliance on a VDC manager for typical questions. These tools simplify everyday operations and allow construction teams to handle on-site situations.

Moreover, over 900 clients have evaluated OpenSpace BIM+'s capabilities, and they have expressed their satisfaction with how this new product enables project teams to address problems more quickly by comparing as-built circumstances to design intent both in the workplace and on the building site.

On the other hand, OpenSpace now allows storing, viewing, analyzing, and sharing point cloud data from mobile and terrestrial laser scanners. OpenSpace's 3D Scan capability brings all the reality collection data to a single central location. In addition, the program provides capabilities to assist teams in quickly resolving issues by connecting their design goals with on-site conditions. This helps to ensure that answers, approvals, and project schedules are completed more quickly.

The field note functionality of OpenSpace Capture is currently included in BIM workflows with the release of OpenSpace BIM+. This enables field teams to upload detailed photographs and notes while they are on-site walks or while they are back at their desks. The export of BCF files facilitates the integration of notable BIM coordination tools, such as Revizto, Navisworks, and BIM Track, consequently simplifying workflows.

Utilization of AI

Creating an interactive digital representation of their physical environment in 360 degrees is made possible for construction and real estate enterprises of any size by OpenSpace, the industry leader in reality capture and analytics powered by artificial intelligence. Over 24 billion square feet of images from construction projects across tens of thousands of sites in more than 93 countries have been captured by OpenSpace, which has been used by customers such as JLL, AECOM, and RG Construction to improve their operational efficiency and decrease risk.

Furthermore, many difficulties indicate the importance of making buildings more efficient and less dangerous. Thus, nearly 100 million people worldwide do not have a place to live, construction labor shortages are at record highs, and supply chain disruptions continue. Using cutting-edge technology, OpenSpace is addressing the difficulties that are now being faced by the industry. For instance, the vision and navigation artificial intelligence technologies used in self-driving cars are being used to allow teams working on projects to get things done more quickly and cooperatively. Through image-based workflows, they believe that confusion can be eliminated and efficiency previously unattainable with text-based systems can be unlocked.
