There is still debate among specialists over the efficacy of artificial intelligence in resolving common construction issues, although it has significantly contributed to the building industry in terms of productivity and convenience. An expert during a webinar pointed out that technology is not the answer to the sector's typical problems.

Experts' Opinion on AI's Effectiveness

Artificial intelligence is predicated on the idea that human intelligence may be characterized so that it can be easily imitated by a computer and carried out activities ranging from the simplest to the most highly difficult. AI is in a constant state of development that benefits numerous industries.

However, Josh Levy, co-founder and chief executive officer of Document Crunch, stated that AI has remained relatively the same in the construction industry despite its promises. During a webinar, Levy discussed whether artificial intelligence would be able to unlock significant productivity. He noted that the usual issues that arise with the building still exist. According to Levy, the technology is appealing, but there are other solutions to the problem.

In addition, Jeff Sample, host of the ConTechCrew podcast, agrees that while artificial intelligence is a remarkable technology, there is a lot of hype surrounding it. He emphasizes concerns about the accuracy of the data. Sample reveals discussions with construction industry executives, who view artificial intelligence as another addition to today's technologies. Kris Lengieza, the worldwide technology advocate for Procore, pointed out that the expectations for artificial intelligence are significantly higher than reality. It is not the software that alters problems; instead, it alters how issues are approached and how they can be solved.

Thus, Trent Miskelly, the chief operating officer at Document Crunch, adopted an alternative strategy. He explained why he is cautiously hopeful about how artificial intelligence may change buildings. Miskelly says most construction executives are AI tourists. Although they are experimenting with it, they have yet to be ready to dive in. He also asserted that many businesses must devise a strategy to avoid being caught off guard.

Rise of Artificial Intelligence

Technology and digital cooperation have become increasingly prevalent in the construction industry in recent years. On the other hand, it can reportedly be challenging to locate the resources necessary to integrate new technology while maintaining the progress of individual projects.

The application of artificial intelligence in the construction industry could enhance safety, productivity, quality, and other important parameters. Since artificial intelligence can take over tedious tasks and provide assistance with design and planning, the humans on the team can devote their time to sharpening their expertise and creativity.

Accordingly, artificial intelligence and machine learning may assist teams and businesses in making informed forecasts, which can streamline procedures. AI, particularly machine learning, can enhance designs to create more comfortable environments for human occupants.

Moreover, computer vision driven by artificial intelligence can analyze job site occurrences, including trips and falls, which can assist managers in developing more effective safety measures for employees. This technology can also analyze video data to identify potential safety dangers and regulatory violations.
