Entry Level
There are a variety of entry-level construction jobs available, such as apprenticeships and laborer positions, which allow people to gain skills while working on the construction site.
1. Bricklayer
Bricklayers are an essential part of the construction industry. These people are trained tradesmen who specialize in constructing and maintaining structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials.
2. Stone Mason
Stone masons are known for their ability to produce a wide variety of structures, sculptures, and architectural features by working with natural or artificial stone materials.
3. Flooring Installer
Inside buildings, flooring installers are responsible for laying down and finishing the floors in accordance with the project standards. These professionals can work with a wide range of flooring materials, including wood, carpet, tile, laminate, linoleum, and vinyl.
Mid-Level
In the construction sector, professions considered to be mid-level or skilled involve a greater number of duties and activities, such as planning, designing, and carrying out analyses. Jobs such as project managers, estimators, and site supervisors also fall into the mid-level category.
4. Electricians
Electricians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing domestic and commercial electrical systems and wiring. In addition to this, they assess the functionality of all electrical systems and wiring, as well as locate and fix the source of any problems that may arise in malfunctioning electrical systems.
5. Construction Supervisor
As a critical link between the various stakeholders involved in the project, a construction supervisor is responsible for overseeing the everyday operations on the construction site. Among their responsibilities are scheduling work, coordinating subcontractors, complying with safety and construction codes, and maintaining direct communication with the client and the project manager.

Expert Level
A substantial salary range necessitating specialization or expertise frequently accompanies construction positions that demand years of experience and education.
6. Architect
Architects are considered to be some of the most competent and well-compensated experts in the construction field. They collaborate with engineers, customers, and other architects to design structural blueprints that significantly influence the path that any given project will take. A bachelor's degree in architecture, relevant experience, and licensure are required for qualified architectural candidates to be considered for positions that are not internships or apprenticeships.
7. Civil Engineer
Civil engineers are a highly desirable profession within the construction industry. Their work encompasses designing, constructing, and overseeing infrastructure projects, including water systems, roads, bridges, and tunnels. Accordingly, ensuring that structures are built safely and effectively requires them to collaborate closely with architects and other engineers.
8. Structural Engineer
Structural engineers, classified as a subset of civil engineers, possess specialized knowledge and skills in developing and evaluating resilient constructions against natural disasters like hurricanes, wind, and earthquakes. Aside from overseeing construction site visits to verify that the project is proceeding as intended, they must be able to execute simulations and models using advanced computer software.
