Tesla's Semi Factory Construction in Nevada

January marked the beginning of Tesla's expansion efforts to Giga Nevada, which allowed the company to increase production of both the Semi and its 4680 battery cells.

Senior Manager of the Semi Program Dan Priestley provided a few views on the forthcoming facility during Tesla's earnings call for the first quarter of 2024, which took place in April. Priestley mentioned that the automaker intends for the first Semis to roll off the manufacturing line in late 2025, with early external customers beginning in 2026.

The Semi factory is being constructed as an extension to Tesla's existing Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada. X user HinrichsZane provided drone footage from the facility's location in a post published on Sunday, July 7. A substantial quantity of steel that was only recently delivered to the area can be seen in the video. This provides evidence that the corporation is getting closer and closer to beginning work on the long-awaited Semi facility.

Accordingly, PepsiCo received Tesla's first Semi units, delivered in December 2022. Although the Semi program has remained rather quiet since then, the automaker has recently begun distributing more and expanding to other corporations. Following shipments to Costco, Martin Brower, and Walmart, Tesla delivered an additional fifty semi-trucks to PepsiCo in May.

On the other hand, Tesla Semis are being employed more frequently at the company's facilities. The automaker recently announced that they have been utilized to transport over 20,000 battery packs from Giga Nevada. In addition, they have been seen at the company's factory in Fremont, California, and Tesla has lately shared video footage of the semi-truck transferring items between the two plant locations.

Does the Semi Tesla include an Autopilot?

Run under Elon Musk, the well-known manufacturer of electric cars, Tesla is the most valuable automobile company worldwide. Musk has always stretched the envelope of present technologies to fulfill his great goal of leading the first-ever production of self-driving automobiles.

Fascinatingly, a thorough study by LendingTree, which looked at thirty various car brands showcased Tesla drivers' highest accident incidence. The poll claims that drivers of other manufacturers are statistically less likely than Tesla owners to suffer mishaps. Nevertheless, with the introduction of the Tesla Semi, an electric Class 8 semi-truck operated on batteries, Tesla has made significant developments in the automotive industry. This innovative vehicle emphasizes Tesla's determination to change transportation and question the capabilities of electric cars.

Unlike Tesla's electric cars, the Semi cannot help to enable an Enhanced Autopilot upgrade. Aside from its capacity to self-park and summon the car from a garage or parking area, enhanced Autopilot can do semi-autonomous navigation on routes with limited access. This is reportedly a positive development in light of the events with their automobiles. Thus, the Semi contains all the essential gear to support advanced Autopilot.
