LYCS Architecture's Design on Jiang Nan ZAN Store

Jiangnan Zan, a retail store that had been turned from an old modest house of around 200 years of age, became the first fruit of a new cultural tourist intellectual property program named 'Picturesque and Poetic Jiangnan.' This program was created by LYCS Architecture, which integrated architecture, interior design, furniture, fixtures, and equipment design. In addition to being one of the most crucial driving forces behind Beijing Palace Museum Culture & Innovation, it is a joint venture between the Ancient Village Protection and Utilization Fund of Zhejiang Province and HXS Cultures.

The user's behavior is given priority in the design, which results in spaces creating spaces designed to meet business and lifestyle goals in an efficient, comfortable, flexible, and visually pleasing manner. Using material labs, research that spans multiple disciplines, and a parametric approach, LYCS Architecture guarantees the successful execution of creative projects.

As mentioned, the interior features a cascade pattern, and linear lights are placed along the edges of the curved surface, contributing to an increased impression of speed and volume. Moreover, the 'wave' concept is completely finished off with durable white terrazzo, which divides the store into eight different exhibition spaces individually. The components of each area are adjustable and flexible to accommodate a variety of products and seasonal renewals, and they are manufactured from metal and wood veneering materials.

On the other hand, this layout maximizes every inch of space possible to solve the issue of excessive rental prices in the retail industry. The original two-level area is transformed into a continuous whole through the design, which provides an immersive shopping experience by blurring the boundaries between the walls, floors, and ceilings inside the space. boundaries between the walls, floors, and ceilings inside the space. Accordingly, a continuous white curved surface complements the original wood structures and wall materials, concealing equipment and creating a clear and stunning appearance.
