Collaboration of Gamuda Berhad and Google Cloud
Malaysia is constructing new rail networks to extend connectivity between the capital and other communities nationwide. Gamuda Berhad has been utilizing technology in its operations for quite some time, even though Malaysia is home to many highly successful construction and engineering enterprises.
In a recent announcement, Gamuda revealed that it intends to expand its partnership with Google Cloud to make enterprise-grade creative artificial intelligence capabilities available to all its employees and make them worthwhile. This will enable Gamuda employees to conduct regional engineering, construction, and public infrastructure projects more efficiently and inventively.
While deploying generative artificial intelligence, Gamuda developed the Gamuda Digital Operating System (GDOS). This system is a standard tool ecosystem used for every Gamuda project. It is a platform that consolidates company data and is supported by a combined data cloud. The information contained in this includes information from mission-critical systems such as SAP S4/HANA and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Significantly, this occurred after Gamuda's SAP S4/HANA systems were effectively transferred from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Google Cloud in 2023, with the assistance of Cloudspace, a partner of Google Cloud.
Using a unified data cloud, the design, engineering, finance, supply chain, and field operations teams at Gamuda obtain a comprehensive, integrated, and real-time view of all project activities. This enables agile decision-making driven by data throughout the process while delivering complicated, long-term projects across Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
On the other hand, Gamuda Berhad is a corporation specializing in engineering, property, and infrastructure in Malaysia. Having a demonstrated history of delivering creative and groundbreaking solutions worldwide, it is one of the largest infrastructure firms in Malaysia.
They aim to be the region's leading innovators and pioneers in developing groundbreaking solutions for large-scale governmental buildings and real estate developments. In addition, they have a mission of delivering cutting-edge infrastructure solutions and top townships to our stakeholders through our primary operations, which include engineering and construction, property development, and infrastructure concessions.
Malaysia Adopts Technology in the Building Sector
The construction industry is gradually adopting new technologies due to the sector's complexity, worries regarding cost, regulatory and safety problems, and cultural opposition. However, digital transformation had to be implemented for the industry to remain efficient and competitive. By incorporating new technologies into their everyday lives, smart cities are quickly becoming the model of choice for the future of technological progress.
Through the building of extensive infrastructure, the construction industry in Malaysia has made significant progress and leaps and bounds have been made. Incorporating newly developed technical applications and advancements into work procedures is recommended to enhance the safety level at construction sites. Increased profits, possibilities for new projects, and increased credibility within the sector are all benefits that come with an intelligent construction approach. Additionally, it decreases the time required to establish an assignment, enabling owners to begin making money more quickly. It also produces an ecosystem of information that can be used in decision-making by utilizing the most significant facts from the field.
