Development of Event Center at Hesperia High School
Work has begun on the new Hesperia High School Event Center in collaboration with energetic contractor Erickson-Hall Construction Co. and designer DLR Group. The Hesperia Unified School District is working on a project that involves the construction of a facility that will be 35,000 square feet in size and will have the capacity to hold various events, including athletic competitions. The district's service area includes children from around 140 square miles, including the High Desert hamlet of Hesperia.
The brand-new Event Center will include a contemporary stage and seating for five hundred spectators. In addition to the public gathering area, the Event Center will consist of classrooms, multipurpose areas, and additional amenities that will benefit the school and the neighboring community. Regarding exterior design, Erickson-Hall is responsible for various tasks, including re-landscaping the adjacent turf and relocating the school's tennis courts.
As mentioned, equal opportunity is another objective of the Event Center project, which the Hesperia Unified School District intends to expand possibilities for kids who might not otherwise have access to them. As a result, the school system is making progress toward its goal of communicating with children who have disabilities, students who are still learning English, and students who come from families with poor incomes. By ensuring that mental health services are incorporated into the improvement of the high school, the district improvement plan is another essential component.
Moreover, officials from the Hesperia Unified School District stated that the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund assisted in making the event center's development possible. The school district reportedly applied for the Hesperia High Event Center after that component of the funding program identified various school problems that needed to be addressed.
